• Chopin is the most famous Polish composer. He absorbed the folk music of his native land and incorporated features of it into many of his works.
• In his own performances and through his music, Chopin changed the nature of piano playing—he created the modern piano style.
• He spent his adult life in Paris, where he was a favorite of high society. He died there at the age of 39.
