Writing Lessons Part Two

Based on the Writing Strands series by David Marks, My Father's World has edited and revised this classic text for greater ease of use. With 68 easy-to-teach lessons, Writing Lessons helps students develop a strong foundation in composition. Plan to complete two lessons each week; the lessons in the book are for one year. Purchase one per student.

For grade 6. (However, Part One is used for a 6^th grader new to Writing Lessons.)

For returning customers who previously used Writing Skills for Today:

Writing Lessons Part One has the same content as our previous Writing Skills for Today Grade 4 (Writing Lessons Part Two has the same content as our previous Writing Skills for Today Grade 5) with minor edits and updates, but they are now recommended for a higher grade, based on customer comments and a thorough evaluation. Writing Lessons Part One is designed for grade 5 and Part Two for grade 6. (Part One is also used for a 6th grader new to Writing Lessons.)

• If you have a 2^nd - 4^th grader, you don't need a separate Writing book. Composition is taught in Language Lessons for Today as well as when writing history summaries using the student sheets.
• If you completed Writing Skills for Today Grade 4 last year, the next step is Writing Lessons Part Two. (A 5^th grader may also wait until 6^th grade to complete Part Two.)
• If you completed Writing Skills for Today Grade 5 last year, for 6^th grade focus on informal composition using history summaries from the student sheets and composition lessons in Language Lessons for Today (or call the office to order Writing Skills for Today Grade 6; supply limited).
