Concepts in Biology Package

Item #: 50091
Available: 24.00

Concepts in Biology is a gentle, simpler course for those who would find it difficult to succeed in an academically-strong biology course. The content is high school level, earning a full-year high school credit, but the reading and vocabulary levels are less rigorous. If your student is college-bound (or fascinated with science) and a strong reader, we recommend Discovering Design with Biology.

To help students successfully complete this course, our package includes streaming videos for each lesson, taught by the author.

Overview

Our primary textbook will be Friendly Biology, which opens the world of biology to high school students in a gentle, non-intimidating manner. Review

Friendly Biology is an entry-level high school biology course that is very conducive to homeschoolers, especially parents that are not fluent in biology. Each chapter is written at a level that both the student and the parent will be able to understand. The pace is very casual and certainly allows ample time for other subjects to be taught each day. The quality of the instruction in the videos far surpasses the videos I purchased last year for a different science program. Would I recommend this course? YES, if a student is struggling or behind in science and in need of a slower pace. NO, if a student excels and is looking for a more robust course with more extensive labs. — Steven
